Trim video online — free, private, no upload
Cut a clip down to exactly the part you want. Everything runs locally in your browser — trimming is a lossless, near-instant operation that never re-encodes the video, so quality stays identical and nothing is uploaded.
How it works
- Drop a video file. It stays on your device the whole time.
- Preview it and set a start and end time in seconds — the readout shows the selected length as you type.
- Press Trim video. Since trimming doesn't re-encode, it finishes almost instantly.
- Preview the result and download it.
Frequently asked questions
Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. The trim happens entirely inside your browser — the video file never leaves your device, whether it's a few seconds or several gigabytes long.
Does trimming re-encode the video, or lose quality?
Neither. Trimming is a lossless fast path: mediabunny copies the encoded video and audio samples between your chosen start and end points without decoding and re-encoding them, so quality is identical to the original and it finishes in seconds.
What formats does it accept, and what do I get back?
Drop an MP4, MOV, WebM or MKV file. The output is always an MP4 with the same video and audio codecs as the source, since trimming doesn't touch the encoded samples.
Can I set exact start and end times?
Yes. Type any start and end time in seconds — fractional values like 12.5 work too — and the readout below updates live to show exactly how long the trimmed clip will be.
Why does my browser say it isn't supported?
This tool needs WebCodecs, which current Chrome, Edge and Firefox on desktop or Android provide. Every browser on iPhone and iPad shares Apple's WebKit engine, which doesn't expose it yet, so the trimmer is unavailable there.
