Add Page Numbers to PDF

Stamp page numbers onto every page of a PDF — pick the position, format and starting number, then download. Everything happens locally in your browser, so your document is never uploaded.

How it works

  1. Drop a PDF — it's read locally, and the page count appears instantly.
  2. Choose a position, format, starting number, font size and margin.
  3. Click "Add page numbers", then download the result.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I put the page numbers?

Pick any of six positions — top or bottom, aligned left, center or right — and set the margin so the numbers sit exactly where you want relative to the page edge.

Can I start at a specific number, or use "1 of N"?

Yes. Set a starting number if the PDF continues a sequence from another document, and choose a format like "1", "1 / N", "Page 1" or "1 of N" — the total updates to match your starting number.

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No. The page numbers are stamped onto your PDF entirely locally in your browser using JavaScript — the file never leaves your device.

Does this change the existing content on my pages?

No. The page number is drawn as a new layer on top of each page — none of the existing text, images or layout is modified or removed.

What font is used for the numbers?

Numbers are drawn in Helvetica, a standard PDF font embedded automatically — no font files are uploaded or required, and it renders correctly in any PDF viewer.
